ABSTRACT
A velhice é um fenômeno biopsicossocial e cultural que apresenta transformações em nível de exterioridade. Com as mudanças do corpo, o externo passa a refletir o envelhecimento do indivíduo. Assim, este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar uma compreensão da importância do olhar alheio no processo de envelhecimento e na vivência da velhice. Para isso, baseia-se no existencialismo de Simone de Beauvoir e Jean-Paul Sartre.
Old age is a biopsychosocial and cultural phenomenon and presents a strong transformation in level of exteriority. With the changes of the body, the external one reflects the old age of the individual, who, in turn, can experience this reflection in different ways. Thus, this article refers to a theoretical and reflexive survey on old age, with the objective of presenting an existential understanding, based on the existentialism of Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre, about the influence of the other's gaze on the aging process and in the experience of old age.
La vejez es un fenómeno biopsicosocial y cultural que presenta transformaciones en el nivel de exterioridad. Con cambios en el cuerpo, lo externo refleja el envejecimiento del individuo. Por lo tanto, este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar una comprensión de la importancia de la mirada de los demás en el proceso de envejecimiento y en la experiencia de la vejez. Para ello, se basa en el existencialismo de Simone de Beauvoir y Jean-Paul Sartre.
